I am going to be instructing at Northern Essex Community College – College for Kids program in July. One of the classes with be papermaking and bookmaking. The books in this will be inspired by the visual and be less about the written word.

So I have begun to play with making paper from recycled materials. I am very impatient. I want the pages to dry much faster. I found some helpful videos on Youtube. I can tell that the paper making process could be come addicting.

This gelatin plate monotype was recognized for excellence by Lynda Hartigan is the Chief Curator of the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem Massachusetts. Linda Germain has chosen to donate this gelatin print to the annual art auction to help raise funds to run the art association. Be sure to attend this wonderful event. Linda Germain’s monotype gelatin print, entitled “Chaotic Care” was accepted into the Winter Members show at the Newburyport Art Association.

The show will run from February 6 – March 1

The juror was Elizabeth Wyckoff, Assistant Director and Curator of Prints and Drawings at the Davis Museum & Cultural Center, Wellesley College, Wellesley.

Reception: Sun., Feb. 8, 3 – 5pm The event is free and all are welcome to attend.
