Great Day – in New England

Sunday – Sunny and warm for the first day of November.  I took a pile of photos of some of my gelatin prints.  I struggled and then gave up and learned the limits of my camera and lighting.  I can always improve and be patient for now.  The rust prints are progressing.  I figured one way to control the rust image is to scratch the metal.  It helps that my studio is in a machine shop.  Plenty of metal around to rust up! I found gapingvoid on twitter. He inspires me to do 200 drawing in 30 days!  I worked on a bunch of collages today.  Right now they are a gross gray, green, blue color.  It is time to sand them. Enjoy! http://www.linda-germain.com/

Time to Play

Today I did some reading, played with some collages and struggled again with my paypal button.  I think it is a problem with blogger software.  I am hoping it is temporary and will fix itself.  I was reminded of Artist Congress 2009 that is meeting at the Boston Public Library.  Sound like lots of free information.  The Ghost print workshop that I taught last night was fun for all.  Everyone came in with inspiration for their prints.  They are seeing their world differently now.  They are noticing textures, share and potential printmaking tools.  Yeah!!!  I have been reading Ignore Everybody and 39 other Keys to Creativity by Hugh MacLeod.  It is funny, straight forward and helpful.  http://www.linda-germain.com/ http://lindagermain.blogspot.com/

I Sort. I Pile. I Print.

I just placed a paper and mat board order with Dick Blick. I worry if the white of the board will match the white of the paper. I hope so. I have been trying to mat and frame some work today. I find myself avoiding it. I sort. I pile. I go to the computer. I go to lunch. I sort some more. Hmmmm. I guess I need to break it down into baby steps and set some deadlines. I would rather be playing with ink and stuff. I will make time for both. Enjoy! http://www.linda-germain.com/
