In the studio making Gelatin Prints

Today and yesterday I have been making more dress prints with the gelatin plate printmaking process. Someone left a stack of “accepted” and “rejected” tags on my desk and I was moved to use them as a printing surface. I am preparing for a Show in July. Framing is always a challenge. It has to enhance the image not over power it. www.linda-germain.com

Textured Gelatin Plate Monotype Prints

Today I had a small piece of gelatin to work with. It is about one month old and filled with moldy holes. It was slimy and fading fast but I had some fun with it making gelatin plate monotype prints. I was surprised to find that the print I was the most pleased with was the print that was the most experimental. I layered colors randomly, brayered directly on to the print and then added some trace monoprint lines to it. I am struggling with just creating and finding my voice and needing to produce a product. In my heart I know that I just have to do work, listen to my heart and the product will take care of itself. Why am I resisting this choice?
