"She Moved IV" – painting goes on

This drawing/painting was reworked. It evolved and got cropped. I kept trying something new. Going Darker, going lighter, adding texture, trying a new medium. You would not think that Kip, the dog moves that much, but she does. She looks pretty sleepy and that she is too. I found that charcoal over oil pastel causes the charcoal to stick to the pastel and stand out. www.linda-germain.com

Just Do It – Why is that so Hard to Remember?

And the marketing for the ArtSpace http://artspaceatbentleylibrary.blogspot.com/ ate up a bunch of my time too, and I was not very focused or motivated to paint, draw or print. But I worked on another couple of “She Moved” dog drawings/paintings and was pleased that I went through the process. The one above I started with black paint blocking in the dark areas and the She Moved. So I started again and then She moved so I started blocking in the light areas and then the whole thing was very wet so I started writing thoughts, feelings, questions, reactions.

Layers of Charcoal, Paint and thoughts

Kip my dog faithfully sleeps while I toil. do I need to toil? Could I just have fun? What if I make a mistake? do it wrong? Lose? Not Good enough? Oh the crap that goes through my head. I best not hold on to that stuff. Today I have been working on promoting the ArtSpace @ Bentley Library. Oh how the time slips away. http://artspaceatbentleylibrary.blogspot.com/ I am going to take a break from the computer and play with some paint and charcoal. http://www.linda-germain.com/
