Monotype Prints – Making Discoveries

Finding treasures and inspiration in my walks around campus. The rain has not kept me inside. I found some new ways to lay down the ink in my monotype prints on the gelatin plate. After the original print and before I remove the stencils I roughly ink the plate again. This allows for the details of the ghost and the dark darks of fresh ink. During my computer time today I came across the Dress Project, http://www.virginiafitzgerald.blogspot.com/. Fun, interesting and inspiring.

Printmaking, Prints, Inpiration, and the Internet

Time in the Studio. Time to create. Time alone. I find myself at this keyboard alot. I tend to make myself bad and wrong for that because it means I am not printing, drawing or otherwise creating. But I am marketing and learning. Humm? today I came across another great video. This one is at the MOMA channel and is a talk by the artist Swoon. If you are interested check it out @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBUM_F-mfcI I did come up with some new prints in the last few days. I am finding inspiration on my daily walk and working those found objects into some new prints. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klM08NAnPZs Check out a few of them.
