Playing with Printmaking – Tiny Gelatin Prints

Today, I have been using a 2″ square piece of gelatin as a stamp. I inked it and then worked into the ink to create designs and impressions. I am thinking of using this method with the kids this summer at College for Kids at Northern Essex community college. It is easy to get some very detailed impressions. Playing with handmade paper and books

I am playing with journal type books and quickly working up some forms that I think I can use with the kids @ College for Kids this summer. So far I have made white, yellow and brown papers from recycled fibers. Tonight I made a couple of journals so I can see how the paper stands up to the wear and tear of daily use. http://www.linda-germain.com/ I watched a great video by Lonnie and Jacqueline http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIF-5ZhxMmA enjoy

Playing with Papermaking

I am going to be instructing at Northern Essex Community College – College for Kids program in July. One of the classes with be papermaking and bookmaking. The books in this will be inspired by the visual and be less about the written word.

So I have begun to play with making paper from recycled materials. I am very impatient. I want the pages to dry much faster. I found some helpful videos on Youtube. I can tell that the paper making process could be come addicting.

Anyone interested in the College for Kids program should check out the full schedule and register early go to http://www.necc.mass.edu/collegeforkids/

Last year I was lucky enough to teach the painting courses. You can see several short videos that I made of some of the student work on my YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/lgcreate
