Balance – Art, Family, Fear & Action

Wow it has been a week, since I have been here. November is flying by and Christmas is around the corner.  I have been mailing out work and finishing prints to show or sell or submit to shows.  As deadlines approach, I can easily talk myself out of meeting them.  I am pleased to say that I have met my goals this week and have not let the deadlines slip by. It is a busy week preparing for a couple of local shows, going to a printmakers meeting, planning a 50th wedding anniversary party and working on the farm. I have to thank my friends in my Artists’ Way group for supporting me and holding me accountable for my goals. It helps to have to report in to someone else. http://www.linda-germain.com/ http://www.youtube.com/user/lgcreate

6 by 6 Gallery NYC

Well I came across this fairly new gallery in NYC, 6×6 Gallery.  They offer a gallery submission package for $40.00.  It includes a 6 by 6 canvas and get you into a show for a month and online for 3 months.  It sounded fun, so I am giving it a try this month.  I cropped a gelatin plate print and mounted it on to the canvas, painted the sides and covered the print with gloss varnish.  I do love this print.  I am going to play around with the 6 inch square format.  It might make a good size for Christmas gifts. http://www.linda-germain.com/

Making Progress – with Mixed Media Prints and More

I am happy to have these full days in the studio.  Farm work is wrapping up for the season.  We will do a bit for Christmas, but harvest is over.  I have been collaging, painting, scraping and sanding a pile of images.  Yesterday, I printed figures on tissue paper and a few were dry today.  I started working them into the collages and I am happy with how they are evolving.  I have created a long to do list.  And I am making progress.  Friday is first friday and I will be going to open studios in the South End of Boston.  http://www.linda-germain.com/
