Gelatin Prints w/ Moldy Gelatin a Slideshow

I just uploaded a new video/slideshow of some prints that I have made with old, moldy gelatin.  The print above is in the slideshow.  The imperfect gelatin allows for the white marks and circles in the background.  Enjoy the video.  I used the audio swap feature and used a Ray Charles song.

Sunday in the Studio

It is a popular place, my studio, which is a large corner of my family’s machine shop.  It is great place for the kids to come and run around or build things.  We are so lucky.  I want the place to myself these days, but I have to learn to share. Today  I cut up several men’s shirts to make a quilt for christmas.  Now I think I will try some of my new stencils for Christmas cards.  Enjoy!

In the Studio making Gelatin Prints!!!!

I am finally in the studio and printing.  It feels good.  I am singing and dancing along with my country music.  Today I am feeling the Christmas spirit.  I bought some materials to make a quilt for the family yankee swap.  I have been playing with christmas card images and cutting some stencils.  I have about 6 old moldy gelatins in the refrigerator.  One had to be thrown out today, but I used another and got some nice textured effects like the background on this angel print.  Here I am using Daniel Smith water soluble inks for the angel and speedball gold for the background. This is a picture of the moldy gelatin.  Don’t be afraid.  Use it you will get some fun results. http://www.linda-germain.com/
