A Curated Show, open to any artist 17 and older

The Juror: Joanne Mattera is a painter who exhibits and lectures widely and curates occasionally. In Boston Ms. Mattera is represented by the Arden Gallery. She is the author of The Art of Encaustic Painting, known colloquially as “the encaustic bible,” and the Joanne Mattera Art Blog which has developed a dedicated following for its coverage of art and artists in New York City and elsewhere. This past December, at the invitation of Art Miami, she organized and moderated the panel, “Beyond Basic Blogging: Carving Our Niche in the Blogosphere.” Ms. Mattera is a visiting lecturer in the 2D Department at the Massachusetts College of Art, and the founder/director of the Conference of Encaustic Painting at Montserrat College of Art, Beverly, Mass., now in its fourth year. She divides her time between Salem, Mass., and Manhattan.
Entry Fee: $12.00 per entry, 3 for $30, limit of 3 entries. If no work accepted ½ of entry fee will be refunded

GUIDELINES
Media: mixed media objects or images: collages, constructions, etc., sculptural & visual
Size limitation: there are no size limitations for this show, except entry through a standard door
Conditions: Curating will be done from actual work. All work must be delivered and picked up. All work must be original, ready for hanging, or display and have been completed in the past 3 years. No wall anchors. Heavy work and work requiring special installation must be installed by the artist. Work previously exhibited in this gallery will not be accepted. Entries are invited from all artists over age 17.
Drop-off: Thursday, January 21, 10am-7pm and Friday, January 22, 10am-5pm at 25 Exchange Street, Lynn, MA. Please fill out the following information for each piece and attach to the back of your work: number of pieces submitted, artists name, address, daytime phone number, email address, title of piece, medium and price. In addition, please fill out an Artist Inventory List.
Notification: All artists will be notified by e-mail on January 26. If you do not have an e-mail address, please call LynnArts between 1 and 5 pm.
Work not accepted: Must be picked up on January 26- 28 during regular business hours..
Accepted work: Unsold work must be picked up between Monday, March 15 and Thursday, March 18, regular business hours.
Commission: LynnArts, Inc. retains a 25% commission on all work sold during the show.
Liability: Artwork will be insured upon arrival at LynnArts. We reserve the right not to insure works that are
damaged or structurally unsound. Works left at LynnArts beyond the stated pick-up date are not insured and
will be charged a $5 per day/per piece fee.
LynnArts, Inc. is a private non-profit arts organization located in Lynn’s Central Square at 25 Exchange Street. The building houses two large and airy gallery spaces as well as a black-box rehearsal/performance space and several artist studios. The LynnArts office welcomes queries regarding artist exhibition proposals, membership, teaching opportunities, and rental of office and studio space.
