More foam Plate Prints

I have been experiementing with the foam plates some more.  The combinations are endless.  It is so quick.  I use a hairdryer to speed up the drying process, so that I can layer the image.
The speedball inks are working well.  I am not diluting them at all with water and I am getting nice even coverage.  I will have to put a call out to my family to save foam plate, take out food, meat trays and produce trays.
Enjoy the weekend.

Foam Plate Prints

I have been playing with square styrofoam plate prints this week. I was inspired by another artist Bonnie Mineo  A couple of my friends took a workshop with her at Fort Point Studios.
They had a great time and enjoyed the technique.  I have not had a chance to see their work, so I have been guess at how she layers the plates.  I made about 20 plates with simple marks and then used speedball inks and just started layering.
Last night I found that I liked how a light color over a darker color looked. I am having so much fun that I can’t stop.  I am just using styrofoam meat trays and cutting them into 4″ squares.  I am using pastel colors and colors that I would not usually use.
Try!  You’ll like it! Enjoy!
