This mixed media gelatin print is printed on a map and then collaged on to the index card for the ICAD challenge. I love working on papers that already have a story or history. I think that is can draw the viewers into the print and invite them to take a closer look.
Tools I used for this……..
Mixed Media Gelatin Print –
- gelatin plate
- speedball inks
- paper stencil coated with mat medium
- brayer
- map page
- newsprint for pickups
Happy Printing
The large images you are doing are really interesting. I love the way they take up the entire space.
I am filling the space, but they are only 4″ x 6″. My stencils are big for that size, but I guess it is working.
Love how you used the map. Inspires so many ideas. I really appreciate how generous you are in sharing ideas.
Happy to share!
I love the texture of the map. It definitely adds another layer of interest/texture to the work. I like mixing media especially printmaking but have never tried gelatin printmaking..looking at your work makes me want to give it a try!
