I am making progress. I had friend make me some boxes for my Lost and Found show that is coming up this winter. I have been working on finishing them so that I can mount my prints on the face of the box. The repetitive nature of this step has been helpful in moving the project forward.

Hi, Linda – I am enjoying reading your posts. Your Haystack notes are very helpful, esp. like the idea of drawing one small object every day. I really believe in the power of daily drawing but am not always committed to doing so. Thanks for the nudge.
Happy to give you a nudge. Enjoy the textures of Fall.
I have a couple questions as to why you did not care for the boxes.
do you think it was because there was not a “framed” portion around the edge?
and If so did you consider mounted the prints inside the box?
one more, it came to mind as I was typing 🙂
are you shielding the pieces with glass in a traditional frame?
and If so maybe that is what was missing from your boxes.
I’m curious to know because I think the boxes are great and would present the work without the frilly distraction of matt and framed edges.
Jamie Lynn – good questions. I do think I needed some space aound the print to finish it. I did consider using the inside but that did not please me either. I was not planning on using glass with the boxes. I think part of what I did not like was the rectangle shape. I have done mixed media pieces in small square boxes and like them. I am not giving up on the boxes just for this series. thanks for your thoughtful questions.
