Five artists who call themselves, Confetti, came to the studio today to play with gelatin prints. It always amazes me how much I can learn when I am suppose to be the teacher. I love to let students learn by doing and they always think of new ways to create interesting images. With gelatin printmaking the possiblities do seem endless. We tried Daniel Smith inks, speedball inks, golden open acrylics, drawing paper, tracing paper, maps and newsprint. All in all, I think everyone had fun and created some interesting prints. They all left wanting to come back for more. Yippie!

i love teaching workshops … for that very reason – that i learn from my students … i too marvel that it happens … its a dialogue … and an engagement that takes place where teacher learns and students teach and where everyone takes something away with them …
isnt that marvellous ? i love it >>> Gina
It sure is great!
love this yummy little print. it oozes Spring in all my favourite shades of green.
Thanks. It is one of those pieces that just happened after lots of experimenting.
I have always loved the surprises that printmaking offers. I watched your demonstrations with gelatin plates on YouTube, and now I’ve got my own gelatin plate waiting in the fridge. I can’t wait to get started.
Thank you so much for being generous with your time and knowledge–it really helps people like me who have a hard time visualizing the written instructions, even down to the video of you releasing the gelatin from the pan!
happy to inspire and share. Have fun with the gelatin prints!
It is definitely fun! I spent the weekend playing with wisteria leaves and sliced green tomatoes on my gelatin plate.
ooh I would love to see what the tomatoes do!
