Today I had a small piece of gelatin to work with. It is about one month old and filled with moldy holes. It was slimy and fading fast but I had some fun with it making gelatin plate monotype prints. I was surprised to find that the print I was the most pleased with was the print that was the most experimental. I layered colors randomly, brayered directly on to the print and then added some trace monoprint lines to it. I am struggling with just creating and finding my voice and needing to produce a product. In my heart I know that I just have to do work, listen to my heart and the product will take care of itself. Why am I resisting this choice?

Linda, I have just discovered gelatin printmaking and you are such an inspiration! I think we all have that little voice that is best ignored. — BTW I am signing up for your January class in Newburyport and looking forward to it!
